Driver Requirements
Identification and Driving License: At the time of vehicle pick-up and drop-off, driver(s) MUST present a valid passport and driving license. Driver(s) must hold a valid driving license issued at least 3 years prior to the rental start date. Unless an automatic vehicle is specifically requested, the license must be valid for manual transmission vehicles.
Minimum Rental Age: 25 Drivers under the age of 25 are not eligible to rent a vehicle.
Maximum Rental Age: 75: 75 We do not provide rental vehicles to drivers over the age of 75.
Driver: Only registered driver(s) are permitted to operate the vehicle.
Additional Drivers: The rented vehicle may only be used by the driver(s) specified in the agreement. A daily “Additional Driver Fee” applies for the second and third drivers. A maximum of 3 drivers can be added per reservation.
Rental Period
The rental period begins on the date and time specified in the Rental Agreement and ends on the stated date and time.
The minimum rental period is 3 days.
If the vehicle is returned before the end of the rental period, both the rental duration and the agreement will terminate upon return of the vehicle. No refunds will be issued under any circumstances for early returns.
Extending the Rental Period
If you wish to extend your rental period, please contact British Rent A Car via email or phone at least 24 hours before the end of your rental. We will do our best to accommodate your request; however, extensions cannot be guaranteed during busy periods.
Insurance / Coverage Conditions
All prices include Traffic Insurance (CDW). To minimize any potential risk, you may choose one of our additional coverage packages.
Deposit
A deposit in the specified amount is charged at the time of vehicle reservation.
Payment Method
Customers are required to pay the full rental amount at the time of vehicle pick-up.
The following major credit cards are accepted:
VISA, MasterCard , troy.
A bank commission fee will be applied to payments made by card.
Cash payments are accepted in GBP, Turkish Lira, Euro, and USD. Payments can also be made via IBAN/EFT.
Fuel Policy
The vehicle may be returned at the same fuel level as received or with an additional fuel charge, depending on the customer’s preference.
If the vehicle is left by the renter in the parking area of Ercan Airport, any parking fees incurred will be the responsibility of the renter.
No refunds will be issued for any unused fuel remaining in the tank when the vehicle is returned to British Rent A Car at the end of the rental period.
Parking / Traffic Rules and Fines
Drivers must observe all Traffic Laws, Rules, and Regulations. The driver and all passengers must wear seat belts while the vehicle is in motion. The driver is solely responsible for any parking or traffic fines incurred.
British Rent A Car will not accept or reimburse any invoices (including repair bills) issued by the Renter.
Accidents
In the event of an accident, theft, fire, or damage, please call the Police immediately to obtain an official report. Do not move the vehicle from the scene and notify British Rent A Car at +90 533 851 73 48 right away.
Border Crossing Policy
Vehicles are not permitted to be taken outside of Northern Cyprus. Insurance companies provide no coverage in such cases, and the vehicle owner is not obligated to provide any support to the renter in the event of a breakdown or accident. The Renter is held fully responsible for all costs and damages occurring outside of Northern Cyprus, and the vehicle owner reserves the right to claim full compensation from the renter under these circumstances.
Changes and Cancellations
No fees apply for any changes or cancellations; however, if you wish to modify or cancel your booking, please send an email to [email protected] at least 24 hours prior to the start date.
Late Returns
Please inform British Rent A Car if there is any delay in returning your rental vehicle. An additional full-day charge will be applied for vehicles that are not returned within 1 hour after the rental agreement period expires.
After-Hours Returns
If the Renter returns the vehicle outside of business hours, the vehicle inspection will be conducted after the Rental Agreement has officially concluded. The renter remains responsible for any loss, damage, or theft that may occur until this inspection is completed. Any deposit held will be refunded only after the vehicle inspection has been finalized.
Roadside Assistance
The Renter is provided with 24/7 emergency roadside assistance. Please note that this service may be subject to additional charges in cases resulting from user error.
Renter’s Responsibilities
The Renter agrees to comply with all Terms and Conditions specified herein.
The Renter agrees to operate the rented vehicle with due care and attention at all times and to adhere to official traffic regulations.
The Renter is obliged to check oil levels, water, and tires upon collection/return of the vehicle and must maintain these at the required levels throughout the rental period.
The Renter shall maintain the vehicle in good condition, fair wear and tear excepted, and shall return the vehicle, including all tools and accessories, in the same condition as when received. The vehicle’s condition is recorded by the Owner, and the Renter acknowledges this by signing the Rental Agreement.
The acceptance of the vehicle at the end of the rental period does not constitute indisputable proof of its good working condition or the completeness of all tools and accessories.
The Renter must immediately notify the Owner of any loss, damage, or malfunction and must return the vehicle if it becomes unroadworthy or poses a risk to any person or property. The vehicle must be used solely for private use and in accordance with its seating capacity.
The Renter shall be liable for any damage or injury not specifically covered by the Rental Agreement or insurance policy, including physical injuries sustained by the driver and/or passengers.
Without the prior written consent of the Owner, the Renter shall not sub-rent the vehicle or permit it to be driven or handled by any person other than the Renter. The Renter remains liable to the Owner at all times and shall indemnify the Owner for any damage and hold the Owner harmless against any claims arising from unauthorized use, negligence, or violation of laws. Furthermore, the Renter shall be liable to pay the daily rental rate for each day until the vehicle's repairs are completed.
Any breach of the terms of this Rental Agreement by the Renter shall result in the termination of the Agreement, granting the Owner the right to demand the immediate return of the vehicle.
Both parties are bound by all conditions stated in the Rental Agreement. In the event of legal proceedings in any court, the defaulting party shall be responsible for all associated costs.
By signing, the Renter and driver(s) confirm that they have read, understood, and agreed to comply with all the Terms and Conditions set forth in the Rental Agreement./span>
BRITISH RENT A CAR TRNC reserves the right to modify rental conditions, information, and vehicle types without prior notice whenever necessary.
